WifMoonWif operated on what the dev described as a "recursive wif" thesis: that the cultural power of "wif" (as popularized by DogWifHat) could be amplified by simply saying it twice. And a moon in the middle. The token's name contained its entire investment thesis. The investment thesis was wrong, but it was at least efficient in its wrongness.

The launch was spectacular. CT embraced the absurdity. "WifMoonWif is going to $100M," declared an account with 40,000 followers who has since deleted this tweet. The Telegram hit 12,000 members in 48 hours, 11,800 of whom were bots. Volume peaked at $28M in a single day — money moving in circles between wallets controlled by a team operating out of a timezone that definitely wasn't Asia but also definitely was Asia.

On day three, at precisely 4:17 AM Eastern, $3.2M in liquidity was removed. The Telegram was deleted. The Twitter was deleted. The website, "wifmoonwif.xyz," was replaced with a 404 page. The dev, who had been responding to every community message with enthusiastic fire emojis as recently as 4:16 AM, was never heard from again. The wif, it seems, did not moon twice. It mooned zero times. It went straight down.
