MoonMath had a good run. Not a great run — certainly not a run that justified the TikTok creator who told 200,000 followers that the token had "mathematically guaranteed 10x potential" — but for approximately 11 days, MoonMath resembled something approaching a legitimate project. The concept was genuinely interesting: an algorithmic stablecoin-adjacent mechanism that would "use mathematics to prevent rugs." The math was wrong, but it was wrong in an earnest way.

The bleed started on day 12. Not dramatically — no whale dump, no rug, no scandal. Just a slow, inexorable decline driven by the simple reality that the math did not, in fact, prevent the steady trickle of early wallets taking profits. Each sell generated slightly more fear, which generated slightly more sells, which generated slightly more fear, in a recursive loop of disappointment that would eventually form the basis of a Harvard Business School case study (it will not form the basis of a Harvard Business School case study).
